Zoya Smoke Collection: Jana Nail Polish Pictures And Review

I recently picked up a few new Zoyas from their fall "Smoke & Mirrors" collection.  Jana is from the "Smoke" half and I love her.  Described as a "medium nude putty creme with grey, mauve, and purple tones", this color is really pretty.  Neutral enough but not dull, I find it to pull to the purple side on my skin.  The consistency is SUPERB....Zoyas always are!  Only 2 coats needed for complete coverage here:

This is such a great polish.  I have nothing else close to it.  It is so perfect for fall.  Have you tried any of Zoya's new colors?  I have 2 from the "Mirrors" half that I will show you this week as well!

Nails Inc. Sloane Square 3D Glitter Nail Polish Pictures and Review

When I saw the display of the "Nails Inc." nail polishes at Sephora, I knew I had to try at least one.  After much debate, I finally chose to take "Sloane Square" home with me.  This is classified by Nails Inc. as a 3D Glitter "Effect".  It is a charcoal glitter base with larger holo glitter pieces mixed in.  Sort of reminds me of OPI's "Servin Up Sparkle" only grey.
I had a hate/love experience with this.  With the first coat on, I thought it was hideous.  Then I put a 2nd coat on and was feeling it more.  It does have a sort of 3D quality to it, which is cool.  This polish had a really weird smell....like nail polish mixed with moth balls.  Also, you need tons of top coat to make this shine...it dries very matte, and a tad "rough" feeling, even after top coat :/  Here are my pics:

Blurry glitter close up shot: "Can you see me now?"

Is it me, or does the "flammable" warning seem to take over the label?

This reminds me of a favorite Bare Minerals eye shadow of mine called, "Rock Star"...same charcoal base with glitter mixed in.  Check it out if you get the chance!

I am curious as to what this will look like layered over a black or dark color.  Look for that post in the future.

These retail for $9.50 each at Sephora.
Have you tried Nails Inc. yet?  Any color suggestions for me to try from them?

Revlon Facets of Fuchsia Nail Polish VS Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance Pictures and Review

I am so super psyched to show you this nail polish today.  I have always loved Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance nail polish, so when I ran across this Revlon one called "Facets Of Fuchsia", I couldn't shake the thought that they might be similar.  Once I put this on, I realized the are DEAD ON copies of each other.  Everything from the sheer black base to the color and shape of the glitter chunks!  The only major difference is the price tag: The Lippmann Bad Romance goes for $18 while I picked this Revlon one up on sale at Target for $3.50!  I always had a really hard time swallowing any polish priced over $10 bucks, so this is a great thing!

Here is Facets Of Fuchsia:

Side Note: Why do I have such a hard time spelling "Fuchsia"???  Weird word.

Here is my pic of  Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance.  I want to find a difference, but I really can't!

What do you think?  Close enough?  I love both of them, but man...for less than $4, sign me up for Revlon!

CND Pink Wishes Colour And Effects Nail Polish Duo Pictures And Review

Obsessed.  I am obsessed with these Creative Nail Design Colour & Effects Duos.  I'm pretty sure they could put out dirt in (dual) bottles and I would be on the hunt, seeking them out.  I think the hunt for these is really my favorite part.  They are never easy to find and not consistent (meaning, the store I got my last duo at suddenly has no idea what I am talking about when I come in looking for the newest one).   I found the newest one, Pink Wishes, today at my beauty supply and I squealed.  I told the woman behind the counter that she made my day and she replied, "that's all it takes?".  Yes.  Yes it is.  I am simple.

This duo was created in honor of breast cancer awareness month, coming in October:

"Every October, people all over the world come together to celebrate and give
strength to brave women fighting breast cancer. To embrace the spirit of unity, wear your
pride on your fingers and toes with CND’s Pink Wishes Colour & Effects Duo"
                                                                                             -CND Press Release

The Pink Wishes Colour is a cool opaque creme polish.  I was so sure this would be a super streakfest, but it totally evened out in 2 coats:

Pink Wishes reminds me of Essie's Fiji, which was a total P.I.T.A to apply.  You get the cool pink tone with none of the crappy application:
FLASHBACK: This was Fiji.  Super  pretty but super THICK and annoying!
Then I did one coat of the Pink Wishes Pearl Effect on top:

It's been a bit since I've included my "Jeff Says" segment to a post (the part where I ask my husband what he thinks of my nail color).  He offered me this insight this morning (unprovoked, I might add :) :

Jeff says: "Your nails remind me of cake frosting."

Yay!  This may be similar to other polishes and topcoat effects in my arsenal, but I will definitely get much use out of this set.  The formulas are perfect!

Thoughts on this duo?  Do you ever find the "hunt" for an elusive product just as rewarding as the actual product itself?

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure "First Kiss" Nail Polish Pictures

Have you ever tried any of these Sally Hansens?  I always see the "Complete Salon Manicure" line and admire their bottles, then scoff at their price- nearly $8 bucks for a drug store brand??  Not happening.  But the planets aligned tonight and I found this one at Rite Aid on clearance, so I thought I'd give it a go.

"First Kiss" is a coral melon creme polish.  I did 3 coats here:

I liked the formula on this polish.  The brush was really interesting....super wide (even more so than an OPI prowide) and the bristles themselves were shorter than a typical polish brush.  I thought it would be sucktastic, but I thought it was pretty nice after all.

There you have it- my first ever Sally H. Complete Salon Manicure review.
Have you tried these yet?  Look for the Spring colors in your local Rite Aid clearance bin!

China Glaze Midtown Magic Fall Nail Polish Pictures and Review

Hay!  How's your Wednesday going?  I just put China Glaze's new fall shade, "Midtown Magic" on and thought I'd share.  I picked this up a week or so ago and immediately gave myself a pedicure with it.  I have to say, on my toes, it's just "meh".  Nothing special.  It looks just plain dark brown/black.  I decided to give a shot on my nails and I am happier with it now.  You can see that the base of this color, while looking very black, is actually a super deep burgandy, blackened-brown shade.  Then there are bronzey gold glitter flecks mixed in throughout.  If I had to give you the first description that came to mind, I'd call this, "sparkly brownie batter".  (There I go again with the food references!)

Here, I offer you an over abundance of photos of this polish in hopes of giving you an idea of what it's really like:

Double click on this one to check out the shimmer!

I think I like this.  I am sort of on the fence.  It's pretty, but when it comes to darkened shades like this, my favorite in recent memory has got to be Nubar Raspberry Truffle.  While these are different, do I really need both?  Hmmm....who am I kidding?  I will hoard this, at least for a little while.

What is your favorite almost-black, but not quite black, polish for fall?
