Twinsie Tuesday: "Gifted" Polish (Color Club Eternal Beauty Nail Polish)

Hello there!  Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "Gifted Polish"- no, that does not mean a polish that has special abilities ;-) We're referring to a polish we received as a gift from someone else. What a perfect time to wear Color Club's Eternal Beauty, that was given to me by my pal Kelly from Tuxarina!

Oh, and super sad side note: I broke 2 nails and was forced to chop the rest down to match. I'm hoping that the holographic gorgeousness of Eternal Beauty will distract you a bit from my sad, stumpy nails:

(2 layers of polish shown):

I love this one Kelly!! <3

Born Pretty Store: Black Handmade Lengthening Fiber False Eyelashes

Press Sample

Hello there friends!  Today I have something to share with you that I've slowly become obsessed with-false lashes. I used to just bust out lashes for special occasions, but I find myself reaching for these more frequently lately and I have to say- I love how girly they make me feel. I'm usually not into anything overly "fake"; I have a strong dislike for fake nails; I will only stray a few colors lighter or darker if I'm coloring my hair, and I remember getting so excited to try out a pair of colored contacts (in gray) only to find that I felt like an imposter when I wore them. I just couldn't shake the feeling that I wasn't really being "ME". So you'd think that for all intents and purposes, false lashes would produce a similar feeling, right? That's what I thought. But I was wrong...I love them.
I've recently started working with the Born Pretty Store, and I was sent this package of 10 pairs of lashes to review. (Link to item here)  Choosing lashes online is tough since you can't really gauge the size and texture of the lashes, but I was very happy when these arrived. (I used my Duo lash adhesive to apply them):

These lashes flared out nicely on the ends and fit very comfortably as well!

What I'm wearing above:
Face:
  Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation (#1.2)
MAC Pro Long Wear concealer (#NW20)
MAC Natural Mineralize Skinfinish (Light Plus)
 It Cosmetics Contouring Palette

Eyes:
  Bare Minerals "Pamper" Eye Color
Julep Double Ended Kohl Pencil (the brown side);

Lips:
YSL Gloss Volupte in Nude Carat

These lashes can be purchased from www.bornprettystore.com You can use the code MBH10 at the checkout for 10% off your order!

NEW! Barielle Spring Vibrants Nail Polish Collection (Pictures,Swatches, & Review)

Press Sample

I have some more Barielle Spring colors to show you today! (See their other Spring collection, The Velvets, here!). These 6 colors are bright & fun:

My City Apartment- is a creamy gray . Okay, so this one doesn't scream "bright!!", but it's a great neutral alternative for the Spring and it pairs so nicely with the rest of this collection. (2 layers shown here):

First Class Ticket- a true periwinkle blue creme. I absolutely love this color for this time of year! (2 layers):

Designer's Shoes- about one jump deeper and more purple than First Class Ticket, this creme polish is a shiny delightful shade (2 layers):

Money Talks- this muted turquoise seemed dustier in the bottle, but as you can see, once it's on- it's bright and minty! This one was a little bit on the thick side, and I need 3 layers of polish to even everything out coverage-wise:

Take Me Shopping- bright coral-pink-red (depending on the lighting). This is the type of color I always gravitate towards during the summer months. I love it! (2 layers shown):

Fire Me Up- a juicy, blood orange color with a jelly-creme finish. Super shiny, and super gorgeous! (3 layers shown here):

Each of these colors can be purchased from www.barielle.com . Which one was your favorite!?

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired By Your Purse

***Be Sure To Enter My Current Giveaway Here!***

Hi there! How's everything? Our Twinsie Tuesday theme this week is nails inspired by your purse, bag, or backpack. I've been carrying around this Betsey Johnson bag for almost a year, and I love it. In the past, I've spent a pretty penny on many "high end" purses- this one here (which cost me roughly around $80 at Macy's) is SO durable and feels so nice too. I am not gentle on my bags at all, and I'm continually amazed how well this one stands up to my abuse.  It's absolutely amazing for the price.  It has a puffy heart design and a leopard bow- need I say more? (PS, they don't have this color combo available anymore, but they do offer it in pink & cream-- www.macys.com)!

For the black, I used Julep Cleopatra (a "latex" finish) and then I attempted to dot out big heart designs with clear polish & a dotting tool. For the leopard accent nail, I used Essie Brooch The Subject for the base and Misa Tailored Taupe for the spots. I then outlined the spots in Cleopatra.

Of course I love this because it has leopard in it ;-)

Be sure to pop by and visit the other Twinises to see what mani they are sporting today!

Twinsie Tuesday: Winter To Spring Transition Nail Polish

Hey friends! Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "Winter To Spring Transition Polish". I'm so done with Winter, although today's forecast is calling for snow (pout). I picked Essie Splash Of Grenadine because it's cheery and bright but not too bright, AND it also happens to be Panetone's Color Of The Year- "Radiant Orchid"!

Here's  2 layers of this pretty color:

Be sure to stop by the other Twinsie's blogs to see what color they chose!

New! OPI Sheer Tints Nail Polish Review PLUS Giveaway!!

Press Sample

Hello there! I'm back today with something new from OPI- here is their Sheer Tints collection of top coats! These 4 polishes give a sheer wash of color either on their own or over another polish:

L-R: Don't Violet Me Down, I'm Never Amberrassed, Be Magentale With Me, and I Can Teal You Like Me

To start, I did one layer of each sheer tint over a white creme:

And here's 2 layers of each tint (still over the white creme):

Next, I did some polka dots using a dotting tool. This was a little more difficult than I thought it would be because the tints are (like it says on the bottle) actually "top coats", making their texture a little stickier than a "regular" polish. Once I got the hang of it, however, it was smooth sailing. My quick dry top coat made some bubbles :/  BOO, but I still wanted to share so you could get the idea of how these worked:

Giveaway Time!!!
Want to win a set of your own OPI Sheer Tints to play around with?!  Enter using the Rafflecopter form below!!  One winner will receive one set of the 4 Sheer Tint colors (Prize provided by OPI)! Please note, this particular giveaway is open to US residents only, but I will be posting an international giveaway very shortly!

NEW! OPI Spotlight On Gitter Collection (Nail Polish Pictures, Swatches, & Review)

Press Sample

Hi there! Today I have the new "Spotlight On Glitter" collection from OPI to share with you!  Some of these look like re-promotes of past polishes, so this is good news if you missed out the first time around (sad news if you were waiting with baited breath for an all new collection, but hey- that's just they way the polish flows sometimes ;-). Here they are:

Rose Of Light- a rose toned gold glitter with holographic squares. Shown here over OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around (Brazilian Collection):

You Pink Too Much- pink hex glitters and teeny holographic bits. Show here over Barielle My City Apartment:

Chasing Rainbows- multi-colored, multi-sized, multi-shaped glitter explosion! Shown here on top of OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana (Brazil collection) :

And here's the same combo, but with OPI's matte top coat over it:

I Reached My Gold!- large chunky gold hexes mixed with holographic glitter. Shown here over OPI Toucan Do It If You Try (Brazil collection). This one is reminiscent of OPI's When Monkeys Fly. When that one came out, the large gold glitters seemed to be curling. When I checked my bottle months later, they had somehow calmed down and flattened out, making that glitter polish one of my all time favorites. I'm super happy to have a "back up" of this one!

Blush Hour- a grapey jam colored base with pink & purple glitters. Shown here over OPI Cute Littlle Vixen (Holiday 2013 collection):

Desperately Seeking Sequins- Super fine silver holographic bar glitters and bits.  Shown here over OPI Taupe-less Beach (Brazil collection) I LOVED this combo...very subtle yet pretty with just enough sparkle:

Will you be picking any of these up? Which one is your favorite?

Some parting info from OPI:
